Wireless RTU/ Modbus Gateway

WIO Wireless RTU products are low cost Remote Terminal Units that combine traditional Remote IO functionality of a standard RTU with an integrated RF spread spectrum radio, lowering cost and simplifying installation and support. Our Wireless RTUs are highly flexible multi-purpose devices that can serve as:

  • Modbus RTU master/slave serial communication device
  • Wireless IO bridge that "mirror" analog and digital signals between remote locations
  • Wireless gateway that provide radio capabilities to “wire-lined” legacy controllers

WIO RTUs operate in a peer-to-peer communication network mode, as to avoid the polled latency of traditional SCADA systems. The Wireless RTUs in effect provide wireless connectivity to any number of remote serial devices using a secure proprietary RF protocol. They can also as act as repeaters used to extend the range of remote IO signal.

The WIO RTU is an easy and cost effective way of connecting remote signals to an EFM (Electronic Flow Meter) or flow computer.  It looks just like a wire to the EFM and makes it a great choice for small I/O wireless SCADA systems and wireless IO applications.  The WIO RTUs are also ideal solutions for monitoring tanks and lift stations, and remote control of well pumps/compressors/valves.
